Order of Merit for Labor to Daniele Gabrieli and Sergio Chemello: a Historic Recognition for NPE
We are proud to announce an unprecedented milestone in NPE’s history: our colleagues Daniele Gabrieli and Sergio Chemello have been awarded the prestigious Stella al Merito del Lavoro (Order of Merit for Labor), officially becoming part of the distinguished group known as the Maestri del Lavoro (Masters of Labor).
The honor, granted by decree of the President of the Italian Republic, was presented during the official ceremony held on May 2nd in Mestre (Venice). This important recognition acknowledges the outstanding work and dedication of Sergio and Daniele, who have been pillars of our company for decades, contributing to NPE’s growth and evolution through professionalism, passion, and an innovative spirit.
Sergio Chemello has been with NPE for over 30 years, playing a strategic role in product design, industrialization, and electronic manufacturing. His deep technical expertise—particularly in printed circuit boards, production, and testing processes—has made him a key reference point for both colleagues and management. His contributions have been fundamental in optimizing production processes, developing new automated assembly lines in Italy and abroad, and advancing electronic production automation technologies.
Sergio has also been a staunch advocate for workplace quality and safety, promoting production layouts that meet the highest standards and reducing risks through the implementation of automated technologies. An important part of his work has been the support and training of colleagues: as a certified trainer for the IPC A610 standard for electronic assemblies, he regularly leads courses for technical staff, sharing vital knowledge in SMT and PTH production.
Daniele Gabrieli, who joined NPE in 1989, has always stood out for his professional rigor, moral integrity, and unwavering commitment to innovation. He has been a consistent presence through every stage of the company’s evolution, even during ownership transitions, becoming a trusted and recognized figure. In his field—testing and industrial automation—Daniele has introduced cutting-edge technological solutions, including fully automated ICT machines and modular FCT systems, helping to position NPE as a leader in electronic testing.
He has also paid close attention to the interaction between automation and operators, developing solutions that prioritize both efficiency and operator comfort and safety.
Daniele has played a pivotal role in mentorship as well. In 2009, he founded and trained an internal technical team that now works with advanced tools like CAD, CAM, and programming languages such as C#, C++, Python, and LabVIEW. Under his guidance, the team has developed testing and automation solutions recognized internationally.
Daniele will also represent the Maestri del Lavoro from the Veneto region at the official ceremony scheduled for October 2025 at the Quirinale, where he will be received by President Sergio Mattarella.
This double recognition is a tremendous source of pride for the entire NPE community. For the first time, our company has been honored by one of the highest offices of the Italian Republic—a clear sign of the impact that daily commitment, professionalism, and passion can have on the national industrial landscape.
